Tango Tanda (Group) & Cortina (Curtain)

In this section of Tango Terms we explore the Tanda (the Group) and Cortina (the Curtain).

First the terms redefined:

Tanda group [tanh’-dah]

A set of dance music which can be either three, four or five songs, separated by a cortina.

Cortina curtain [cor-tee’-nah]

A musical interlude in between a tanda at a milonga.
